And at BIRTHFIT we strongly believe that you should continue to move and stay active before, during, and after you bring a baby into the world. This is not to be confused with "staying lean during pregnancy" or "getting your body back" after you have given birth, this is about training for birth and the physical demands of motherhood!

Our goal is to functionally train in a way that develops competencies in physical skills and enhance the three main metabolic pathways, so women are prepared for the unknown of labor and delivery.

Women should be active and working out throughout their pregnancy! In fact, it is the most important time in our lives to stay fit and nourish our bodies. Unfortunately in our society, there are a lot of misconceptions regarding pregnancy and fitness. A lot of what is out there is either outdated, or not supported by the current scientific literature. The book Exercising Through Your Pregnancy by Dr. James Clapp presents great research when it was first published in 1998 but never made mainstream media headlines. This is where BIRTHFIT comes in! We are here to bring that information—and more—to light, and support you mamas through the process!
